from the road

Writing this on the Langdale ferry, just pulling out of Horseshoe Bay on our way to Powell River (we will have to take another ferry a little later to complete this trip). Gorgeous day on the BC coast, postcard-worthy views in every direction. We did our second show of the Diana Panton tour last night in Whitehorse and it was a big success on every level. For years now the presenters from Jazz Yukon have been setting a gold standard with their presentations, especially when it comes to artist relations. I have always had a great time going up there, I think this was about my seventh or eighth trip to Whitehorse, and this time was certainly no exception. Big thanks to all the amazing board and volunteers with Jazz Yukon and I wish them continued success in the future.

We are very much looking forward to our show in Powell River tomorrow night. Don Thompson is a bit….ok a lot….of a local hero there, so it’s always great to play in PR with Don. As with the folks from Jazz Yukon, Paul Cummings and the crew at Brooks Secondary in PR are a very hospitable bunch so it should be a great couple of days in BC, and then we head to Saskatchewan on Wednesday for our last three shows.

Time to go out on the sun deck. Bye for now.
